Job purpose and key deliverables
The Procurement Executive will need to have the following Principal Accountabilities.
1) Business Results:
Deliver significant competitive advantage to BAT through the management of key suppliers.
Monitoring key supplier performances to meet and exceed the requirements of internal customers, Procurement and Audit Services.
Ensure full cross-functional commitment to supply arrangements through communication, education and involvement of key stakeholders in VMR programmes
Assist in the implementation of Service Level Agreements with contracted suppliers to promote an environment of continuous improvement and innovation.
Maintenance of the supplier catalogue system and core Enterprise Resource planning systems (SAP Procurement system data).
2) Leadership Results:-
Participate fully in developing & driving initiatives necessary to achieve overall business objectives.
Maintain team alignment to British American Tobacco core values, business principles and vision
Manage strategic indirect expenditures in order to capture and improve the company P&L benefits and Procurement savings in short, medium & long term.
Ensure the compliance to Tender committee activities and procurement policy.
3) Management Results:-
Deliver significant competitive advantage to BAT through the generation and management of supply arrangements.
Manage P2P for all procurement to address timely variable Purchasing demand as main component of Strategic Sourcing
Implement best practice sourcing processes (data evaluation, management of RFQ, Invitation to Tender, contract analysis) and day to day procurement support as requested by various customers
4) Relationship Results:
Collaborate with other BAT OpCo’s to support Regional & Global initiatives
Monitor Vendors performance to meet and exceed the requirements of internal customers, sourcing & Audit services.
5) Innovation Results
Roll out the indirect procurement project savings and report figures & findings in global Indirect Benefits tracking tools.
Develop and implement Service Level Agreements with contracted suppliers to promote an environment of continuous improvement and innovation.
Functional Knowledge Managerial & Interpersonal Skills
Thorough knowledge of supply market, supplier capabilities and expected trends.
Professional knowledge of procurement principals and processes, including order negotiations.
Adept at developing procurement strategies and contributing to wider business strategies.
Good knowledge of commercial awareness.
Understanding of legal issues and contractual principles to effectively formulate contracts and Service Level Agreements.
Proficient on the management of multi-functional teams and high level of project management skills.
Detailed understanding of e-commerce tools (such as e-Procurement, e-Catalogue and e-Contract Management, e-Auctioning and e-RFX, etc.) to enhance and sustain the Indirect Procurement processes.
University degree award of studies in sciences and/or commercial subjects.
Proficient on supplier assessment processes that are used to develop supplier improvement plans.
Good knowledge on project management skills.
Understands total cost of ownership (TCO) models and uses this effectively during supplier negotiations and for planning cost reduction programmes.
Understanding of risk management and vulnerability assessment.
Multi-functional Approach – Understanding of a wide range of commodities and the associated total cost drivers.
Strong on analytical and problem solving skills.
Min of 3-5 years of experience in Procurement
